A wedding day can be full of things to think about, making sure everyone turns up, hoping everything goes to plan, hoping someone has the rings etc etc. One worry could be posing for the camera. Here you won't find cheesy posing but my years of experience that put's couples at ease and focuses on documenting natural moments and making the most of the wonderful wedding day you've spent so much time planning.
If there's one thing that ALL my couples say it is 'I don't like having my photograph taken'. After shooting hundreds of weddings across Scotland my approach is always about keeping things natural by taking a candid and laidback approach to most of the wedding day.

Here's a few of my tips on staying at ease on your big day.
1. Be you - Natural wins every time. You'll be looking mega and on cloud nine on the happiest day of your life celebrating your love for one another with your nearest and dearest. My approach as a photographer is to document what is going on and not to stage it. A good photo shows truth and honesty and you being you makes just that.

2 . I'm not that scary - I am just a smiley friendly guy who loves getting to know people. Before my wedding day, I had the same concern about having my photograph taken. On my wedding day, I was just so in the moment and having a great time that I didn't even think twice about having my picture taken. From my experience, all clients my with any concerns always feel the same when the time comes and any camera shyness disappears and we have an blast making great photos. 3. As your photographer I'm not just looking at you- My approach is to be taking it all in and making photographs that tell the story of our day (I explain more about this in my blog about documentary photography). I will be thinking all about the light, the angles, the ISO (the cameras light sensitivity...you don't need to worry about that). When you are in front of the camera, natural is better and making the most of your surroundings is what I thrive on and what I believe helps tell the story of your day. Of course, if I will give some direction when required but there will be no cheesy posing! Another belief of mine is that often the best photos are the ones taken when the you're not aware. Those candid moments. These are what make up the majority of your day and generally speaking the couples shots are really only a small part of the day albeit a special part which gives you mantlepiece memories for years to come.

So there you have it, a few of my top tips for stress free wedding photography. My testimonials will give you abit more of a flavour of how it feels to work with me on your wedding day. If laidback documentary wedding photography sounds like your thing then get in touch and lets have a chat
