Throughout the wedding planning process myself and my husband Alex made many, many choices. Picking Doug as our photographer was truly the best and most important choice we made.
Doug is warm, friendly, genuine, stylish (everyone said so) and has an incredible ability to take beautifully intimate and natural photos without you even noticing he’s taken them. We both felt as though we had spent the day with a friend and everyone commented on what an amazing addition he was to our day.
We looked through our photos tonight with our friends and family and we could not be happier with how Doug has captured our day, everyone felt seen and included, most of all our darling dog Bodie who was front and centre thanks to Doug, crazy spaniel traits and all! This meant a great deal to us.
We don’t know how to pick which photos we want on our walls because, we quite simply love them all.
I cannot recommend Doug enough, we miss him already.

Doug was warm and friendly throughout the day and neither of us really noticed that he was even there most of the time. My husband David definitely doesn't enjoy having his photos taken and even he found the experience of couple photos enjoyable - that says a lot about Doug's skills!
In terms of the photos - they're simply beautiful and we love them so much. They capture the love and happiness of our day perfectly and this is something that many of our family members and friends have commented on as well. We received some previews just two days after the wedding which meant so much to us. We also received all our photos a lot quicker than expected which we also appreciated.

I originally chose Doug at Northern Aye because of his style of photos. He had covered a lot of smaller, intimate and quirky weddings which is what ours was going to be and so I wanted someone who got what we were doing. Doug surpassed all expectations...
From the get-go it was like you were talking to a really lovely friend. He is really quick to respond and takes you through the whole day in great detail (which for a control freak like me made my life easy). I felt so at ease with the plan and what we wanted to achieve which was a relaxed and candid capturing of the day.
On the day he was amazing, he made taking photos fun! (Which is a big deal as my husband hates getting his photo taken). He was so easy to get along with and just fit in like another guest at the wedding which was so nice. Doug - all of our guests loved you!
We received sneak peak photos just a couple of days after the wedding when we were on our honeymoon - which was such a lovely surprise. We then received all of our photos around a month after which I couldn't believe how quick they came.
The photos are just incredible, so beautiful and some are funny and some made me cry. They are perfect. I am so glad we chose Doug to be our photographer. It is such an important day and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be our photographer. Thank you, Doug, for giving us these incredible memories to look back on...now just to decide which ones to print!

Doug was more than happy to have an initial meeting with us before we booked him to have a chat and find out more about his approach to photography, and he was always available to discuss anything in the run up to our wedding. On our wedding day Doug was an absolute pleasure to work with. He made us feel so comfortable and just blended in to our wedding as he worked away taking lots of beautiful photos.

Having Doug as our photographer felt like having an extra guest at our wedding, a friend that felt as if we had known for years. Doug exudes calmness and was such a fantastic person to have around throughout the day. His guidance was invaluable from our first virtual meeting and throughout the full day down to the first dance, for which he stayed much later than he needed to to capture it. He went above and beyond his normal duty and never imposed at any moment. We all felt so comfortable in his presence and we feel it shows in the phenomenal moments he has captured.

Doug was an absolute pleasure to work with. We had a great zoom meeting prior to the wedding and went through all of the details and the shots we wanted. His approach really makes you feel totally comfortable in front of the camera and we had a blast during our wedding shoot! Dougs approach really matched how we wanted our wedding to go, really chilled and relaxed which also put us at ease. He went through what we wanted with us weeks before the wedding which was excellent. And he was fantastic on the day. From start to finish Doug was phenomenal. I (bride) was super nervous about getting pictures taken but he was so good at making me (and our whole wedding party) feel extremely comfortable throughout the day.
The pictures are fantastic and really capture how happy we were on our day. Beyond the typical wedding photographs, Doug was MORE than happy to take the handful of silly pictures that we had asked for just for our collection! We asked Northern Aye to be a part of our big day in November 2021. The photos Doug has produced from the wedding are absolutely stunning. It's hard to begin to thank Doug enough for the way he captured our small wedding, Nov 2020. In practical terms, Doug has been fantastic to communicate with throughout; responsive, efficient, professional yet really friendly. He has the kind of nature that puts people at ease and carried out his work completely unobtrusively on the day.... None of the family are particularly comfortable in front of a camera, particularly me, and yet I can honestly say I didn't feel uncomfortable at all on the day and love the photos so much more than I could have imagined I would.
